Going from Devon to London always excites me. Despite only being a few 100 miles apart, and a couple of hours on the train, they are completely opposite. It is by no means my first time in London, however in a way every time in London is like the first time. The atmosphere is a buzz that can only be captured in a city like London and is something quite special and unique, not to mention the diversity in the culture.
I travelled up on Friday evening and arrived into Paddington station and went straight to soho, which, on a friday night, is really quite something.
After a cocktail in soho, we walked through the London streets which had quickly become alive with people through to China Town for dinner, which was absolutely fantastic and definitely worth doing if you're ever in London. After a long and tiring journey and a busy day ahead the next day we sadly called it a night early and tubed it back to Kew where we were staying.

The next day we were up bright and early for another day exploring. The morning took us to Portobello Road, and is easily the best thing to do in London. World renowned by such celebrities as Kate Moss, I always thought it would be amazing, but I was completely in awe by it Strikingly vibrant and beautiful houses line the road, looking down on the hundreds, possibly thousands of bustling Londoners and tourists, moving around the array of stalls storing anything from street food to old fashioned cameras and vintage toys and books.
After a few hours shopping and grabbing a paella from one of the streets food stalls we had a final drive around London to do a bit of sightseeing. I would highly recommend going around and inside St Paul's Cathedral- something I personally had never done before but it's one of the most beautiful buildings. Unfortunately you cannot take photographs inside, so you will have to see for yourself!
It was a short but sweet visit, and something I will definitely do again in the near future!
